"Hart Cottage was a beautiful building, full of charm and character. The welcome was very warm, and the welcome bundle left for us was most unexpected. The views from both aspects where too die for. If a haven from the hustle and bustle of city life could have been designed by ourselves, Hart Cottage would have been the result."

C Anderson - August 2011.

"A peaceful setting near woods and river, with beautiful views. Valley and moorland walking from the front door, and the Esk railway from Whitby up the valley means you can manage longer walks and day trips without the car. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and were happy, we thought of her as a friend not a landlady."

9 1/2 hours to reach Hart Cottage but as in previous years well worth it. Had a really wonderful stay. Love the new bathroom but most importantly love the welcome we get each year. Our very best wishes for a busy year, and we will see you next March 2016.
